The 1st CCGAR Research Camp on Auditing and Accounting

Friday, June 9, 2017 – Saturday, June 10, 2017 @ Chengdu, Sichuan, China

To bring together leading scholars, practitioners and Ph.D. students working on current issues in auditing and accounting, the Center for Chinese Government Auditing Research (CCGAR) is committed to hosting the research camp on a yearly basis and developing it into a premier research conference in China. The inaugural camp will comprise a keynote address and paper presentations.

The 1st Research Camp on Auditing and Accounting is jointly organized by CCGAR and Research Institute of Economics and Management (RIEM) at the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE). The event will be held at SWUFE on June 9-June 10 of 2017 in Chengdu, Sichuan, China.

CCGAR was jointly founded by the Research Institute of the National Audit Office of PRC, the China Audit Society (CAS) and SWUFE. Its mission is to encourage innovation and development in auditing and accounting research, particularly in the areas of state audit and government audit.

RIEM was established in 2006. Dedicated to high-quality teaching and research in economics, finance, and management, RIEM’s goal is to become an internationally-acknowledged research center as well as a leading Chinese think tank.

For the first research camp, we are very excited to announce Professor Thomas Hemmer from Rice University as our keynote speaker. Prof. Hemmer is a world renowned accounting scholar, an editor of The Accounting Review and a guest editor of Journal of Accounting Research.

The organizers encourage submission of theoretical, archival and experimental studies on board issues in auditing and accounting. The deadline for submission is May 5, 2017. Manuscripts (English only) should be submitted to Associate Professor Lin Liao at liaolin@swufe.edu.cn. Please indicate “your name + paper title” in the subject of email. Authors of selected papers will be notified no later than May 19, 2017. Early submissions are strongly encouraged.

There is no fee to attend the research camp. Participants will cover their own travel and accommodation costs. However, we will provide three nights  accommodation to authors whose papers are accepted for the presentation.
